SCHOOLKIDZ SCHOOL SUPPLY EVENT

Published: May 29, 2010

Buy your child's school supplies for next fall now and then relax over the summer!  This spring the PTO is trying a new service for the parent community.  We have contracted with SchoolKidz, a subsidiary of Staples, to provide the school supplies that your child will need.

How does it work? -- The faculty at Noyes have compiled recommended school supply lists for each grade.  When you purchase a SchoolKidz kit for your child, all the grade-level supplies he/she needs will arrive at school in the fall with your child's name on it.  The PTO will distribute the personalized kits to the proper classrooms the first week of school.  You won't have to drive to three different stores to find everything on the supply list, and your child won't need to carry a big bag of supplies to school the first day.  ** Please note that there may be a few teacher-specific, specialist, or optional items that will not be included in the SchoolKidz kits (since we don't know who your child's teacher will be).**

How do I get the supply lists? -- Grade-level and teacher-specific supply lists will either be posted on the website or sent home with students before the last day of school.  Grade-level lists are also printed on each SchoolKidz Order Form so you know exactly what you're buying. (e.g.: If your child is currently in Grade 2, they will receive the order form for Grade 3 supply kits with the list of supplies it contains.)

What is the cost of a SchoolKidz kit? -- The kits range in cost depending on the supplies the teachers have asked for, but average around $35.  The PTO receives 5% of each kit price.  You save on time, gas, and frustration.  Additional items on the SchoolKidz Order Forms (backpacks & water bottles) are offered for your convenience.  Participation in the SchoolKidz service is entirely voluntary.

Look for order forms in your child's takehome folder.  Order forms and payment are due back by June 4, 2010.  A sample kit is on display near the front desk.  Questions? Need an order form for an entering kindergartener?  Contact Andrea Wang at andreaywang@yahoo.com or 978-579-9373.
